NASA Mars rover has been collecting information on Mars ever since 2004. Solar power is the robot that has been given us information on activities going on mars, and the opportunity if mars will be inhabitable.  The two rovers’ spirit and opportunity have been roaming mars for years now. While both have lived out their life due to unpredictable circumstances from mars. Opportunities have been on mars for 14 plus years now. Spirit has sent 124, 838 images giving facts about mars. The opportunity has sent over 200 thousand raw images to NASA.

NASA’s Mars Rovers and the Facts

There are lots of facts as concerned the red planet, but here are a few of those facts and NASA’s persistent study so far

The Mars Rovers

The goal of the Mars rover is in accordance with the general mission statement of the Mars exploration program by NASA. The goal is to explore mars and provide a continuous flow of scientific information and discovery through robotic orbiters.  The rovers and mobile laboratories are interconnected by a high bandwidth Mars/Earth communication network.  The robots are the two mars rover.

Why is Mars called the Red Planet?

The Exploration currently ongoing would one day enable humans to explore the red planet Mars. Mars is called a red planet because it has soil that looks like rusty iron which means its soil is red in color. It is still uncertain if the soil would be cultivable if the man can plant or build houses as we do on the earth’s planet. Currently, robots are surviving the planet, but we should not get jealous yet as one day humans too would be able to live on Mars.

H2O Processes on Mars

Water interaction with other earth materials like rock, its chemical process would lead to clays. The process will also lead to other hydrogen-based minerals that contain water. The whole patterns exist on earth as it exists on Mars. Although Mars has no plate tectonics, according to NASA’s continuous scientific research on Mars through the rover, Because Mars doesn’t recycle water or its other products. Water is either locked up in the crust or has been lost to space. More information on Mars water would be available through the perseverance rover.

Perseverance Evidence so Far

On March 7, the Mars perseverance rover captures 16 minutes of sounds.  Perseverance rover started its mission on the 18th of February this year.  This sound is from two major audio clips it consists of sound from winds on the mars surface.  The camera from the rover has also captured a sighting of the wind. These data can be studied and analyze to aid NASA’s scientists in studying the planet.

Perseverance on Astrobiology

Perseverance rover will be scanning Mars for Ancient life soonest. This means the mission will not be covering astrobiology in its entirety. Meanwhile, the rover is technically equipped with 19 cameras and also, two microphones. The robotic mission has been packaged with sight and sound. The study is essentially important for the possibilities of human Martian days.

Mars Rovers and others

NASA has sent five rovers to the earth with the latest been Perseverance. Perseverance’s predecessors are Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity. They have all collect various data and aid the Mars exploration mission of NASA.  Curiosity landed on Mars on the 6th of August, 2012, and has spent 3000 Martian days.

Time Measurements on Mars

Measuring time on Mars, a sol is 24 hours, 39 minutes, 55 seconds exact. A Martian year is approx. 668 sols equivalent to 687 earth days.
